Many people visit Bath to see its famous attractions, the Roman Baths, the Royal Crescent and Bath Abbey. However, if you are looking for a more unusual experience or something more adventurous, here are some alternate experiences to be enjoyed in the Bath area.
The Chocolate Experience
Chocoholics should book the Bath Chocolate Experience. After learning about the history of chocolate, visitors can create their own chocolate creations. You can hand wrap the truffles you make, and take them home to share amongst friends, or eat them all yourself!
For the Robin Hood in you, try the combat archery experience in Bath. Using soft foam arrows, you try to hit an opposing team. Combat archery is fast-paced and exciting for people who want to be aggressive but in a fun and safe environment.
Clay pigeon shooting in Bath is an outdoor activity suitable for older children and adults. A shoot involves at least 40 clay pigeons fired into the air. See how many you can hit!
Krowd Keeper’s Magic Theatres features magic shows every Friday and Saturday night at the Ale House Pub. They promise modern-style magicians with no rabbits or top hats. Beer can be ordered from the bar downstairs and enjoyed while watching the show.
Bath Escape is a live adventure where you and your friends are locked in a room and must solve clues and logic puzzles in order to escape. You have just 60 minutes to make your exit.
For Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marples types, the Detective Tour takes you around the city to find clues that lead to the solving of a major crime. Protect Bath from a criminal mastermind!
Castle Combe Circuit is a few miles outside of Bath where, as well as watching car races, you can join the Racing School Experience and drive a sports car around the track under the guidance of expert instructors.
Vintage Classics is based in Melksham close to Bath. Here, you can hire classic cars including the Jaguar E-Type, MGC Roadster and Alfa Romeo GTV. If you want to drive a more sedate vehicle, go for the Morris Minor convertible or a vintage VW campervan.
Hot air ballooning
The most exhilarating experience in Bath is a hot air balloon flight, and is the perfect way to view Bath’s attractions. The Crescent and the Roman Baths look great from ground level, but a balloon high in the air provides a breathtaking perspective on these classic buildings.
A balloon flight is a mystery tour, with the route dictated by the wind direction, but a clear early morning is a particularly good time to step into the balloon’s gondola and slowly rise into the air. As well as seeing the city of Bath, a hot air balloon flight will show you the surrounding villages and you may even see ancient Stonehenge from the air.
Call Bailey Balloons to book the best Bath experience – a never to be forgotten hot air balloon flight.
